A grateful Nation honors its fallen fire service heroes at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park located on the campus of the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. The park is located about 90 minutes from Washington, DC, and Baltimore, Maryland.

Work is underway to expand the monument site to create the first permanent National Memorial Park honoring America's fire service. The park will include the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial, a brick Walk of Honor^® linking the national monument to the historic Fallen Firefighters Memorial Chapel.

A Visitors Information Center will also be created to showcase special mementos from the annual National Memorial Weekend and tributes to America's fire heroes. Computers will help visitors locate bricks on the Walk of Honor.

	The National Fallen Firefighters Chapel In 1997, the site was designated as the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Chapel to denote its special bond to America's fallen firefighters and their families. 	9/11 Memorial: To Lift a Nation On November 5, 2007 a 40-foot-tall bronze monument, recreating the famous photo of 3 firefighters raising the flag at Ground Zero was dedicated.
